There are many opportunities for Bible study, fellowship, and service at and through Lafayette Presbyterian Church. We encourage you to consider how you might become part of this active life of faith. To learn more about any of the following, please call the church office at 850.877.4428:
Packing the Pantry! Let's commit to keeping the in-house pantry packed for those who stop by with immediate needs. Single-serve items, such as the following, are most helpful:
Packs of peanut-butter crackers or cheese crackers
Easy-open soup (e.g., pull-tab tops)
Food that you would like to eat
"Slim Jim" snacks are popular, too!
Meet-and-Eat Groups: Sign-ups are under way and we're preparing to go into the next cycle of dining out and getting to know one another better. If you're not yet involved and would like to be part of this wonderful fellowship opportunity, call the church office.
Laugh, Learn, and Lunch! Led by Pastor Steve, this monthly event is for everyone! Generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, church members, friends, guests, and others head to the Floridian Dining Room in the Parry Center at Westminster Oaks (Dempsey Mayo Road) at noon. Lunch is $10 (credit or debit) and includes news, prayer, inspiration, and laughter! Call the church office to verify the schedule each month, as adjustments are occasionally needed.
Enjoy Reading? Lafayette has two book clubs that meet monthly on Monday and Thursday in various homes. Call the church office at 850.877.4428 to learn more.
Regularly Scheduled Events - Fellowship and Food
Fellowship Luncheon 12:15 PM – Church Fellowship Hall 2nd Sundays (except in May, when it's postponed one week due to Mother's Day) Members of the congregation share homemade main dishes, vegetables, salads, desserts, and other items to enjoy in fellowship following worship. Everyone is invited to attend, even if they didn’t plan to stay or didn’t have time to prepare something. Everyone brings extra to share, so there’s always plenty to go around. The people of this church can COOK – Mm-mmm-mmm! Y’all come!
Men’s Breakfast 9:00 AM – Church Fellowship Hall 2nd Saturdays Men of all ages are invited to attend this great breakfast and time of fellowship! Several of the men take turns cooking, preparing only the healthiest foods (ahem!), and everyone lends a hand with the cleanup afterwards - many hands make light work, especially in the name of fellowship in the Lord. Breakfast is followed by a men's devotional. Join us!!
Quite often, the men set up the tables and chairs for Sunday's Fellowship Luncheon. Several of the men, joined by several women, periodically head out afterwards to pick up trash along Buck Lake Road as a community service - generally four times a year.
