Mission Service & SupportThe women of Lafayette have given their support in missions locally and worldwide. In early circle activities, the women were involved in assembling medical and personal kits (hope-in-a-box kits) for victims of the many devastating hurricane seasons. They have also done the same for global mission.
The Circles have funded an emerging secondary school library. They have also purchased medicine for the brethren in Embangweni, Malawi. Their benevolence has ranged from "least coin" donations to providing livestock through Samaritan’s Purse; collecting monies for Villa International, Mission Haven, Thornwell Home for Children; and supplying bibles to the American Bible Society. Individually and collectively, our women are involved in the Big Bend Area with ECHO, Refuge House, Dogwood Acres, Ten Thousand Villages, The Shelter, and church-wide projects, such as providing meals for the Presbyterian University Center. Each year, we ask the families of Lafayette Church to participate in the denomination-wide Presbyterian Women Thank and Birthday offering events. |
